THE HOMES WE CARRY
Brenda Akele Jorde, Germany, 2022, 89 min
THE HOMES WE CARRY paints the portrait of a family torn apart between Germany, Mozambique, and South Africa. At the center is Sarah, an Afro-German mother, who wants her little daughter to have the relationships she lacked as a child. Therefore, she travels with her to Southern Africa, where both her own father and Luana’s dad are waiting for them.
Together with former contract workers Thu Fandrich and Imbraimo Alberto, historian Dr. Isabel Enzenbach, and a guest from the film, we invite you to join a discussion following the screening. The conversation will be moderated by Julia Vismann.
